| We took a short break in Yorkshire after a very busy summer. After visiting Robins Hood Bay and Heartbeat country we went to stay with a friend who lives near Beadle. One day we paid a visit to this pub. It does not feel like a traditional Yorkshire pub – in fact much of the village (Snape) feels like it has been transplanted from an affluent area of Surrey. The clientele seem much the same seeming to be well off middle aged/elderly or early retirees on generous pensions. On to the pub. The staff were warm and welcoming but unlike most of the other Yorkshire pubs I visited the customers did not engage you in conversation (a bit reserved like Surrey). We tied the local brew whilst the ladies went for wine – all were in excellent condition. The intention was to eat out and as the menu had a good choice we decided to try their food. Again it was excellent. There is only one reason that prevents me giving a highly recommend to this pub and it is the prices! The beer was expensive and everything else very expensive (again like parts of Surrey). Whilst the menu choice is far better than the usual pub menu the prices (they are from memory) approach those of a smart restaurant, e.g. fish and chips - £9-00, cheese and biscuits - £6, etc. [Report for Removal] | David P.
