| Happily catered for eight starving bellringers, food was delicious, didn't try the beer though. Staff very friendly, but rushed off their feet![Report for Removal] | Jenny Lawrence Malvern Worcs |

| Fantastic. The location facing the River Wear and Frosterley's local railway station is surprisingly quiet given the busy road behind (hidden by a high bank). Flagstone floors and an authentically "destressed" interior take the place back 100 years or so - only the muck is missing to make it truly authentic. Fascinating items on the walls, lovely comfortable furniture and a good range of beers. Best of all is the food, good enough to shame many a restaurant and at proper pub prices - main courses ranging from £6-£9 all home prepared and beautifully served. In case you hadn't gathered by now, we liked it! Worth a journey - fairly quiet when we visited on a wet Wednesday lunchtime but would be nice to try it on a busy music night.[Report for Removal] | Russell Wheeler Winchester Hampshire |

| Grossly overpriced, unimaginative food, a bit grubby in the bar area and staff (again a little grubby) closely bordering on rude. On the plus side, well decorated and lovely beer in beautiful countryside - nice beer garden and sells no lager - so no lager louts![Report for Removal] | agill London Kensington |

| Evening meals good if you like stew. Lunches -- a bit of a mixed bag. Beer and atmosphere great (No Smoking).[Report for Removal] | JJTOP Bishop Auckland Co Durham |
