| Great Pub in the quiet village of Bowes. With a pool table to keep the children quiet I had a fantastic couple of pints of Wychwood ale before a very nice meal. This is definately one to visit if you are in the area.[Report for Removal] | Chris Manchester Cheshire |

| The Ancient Unicorn at Bowes is a lovely old coaching inn that exudes old-world charm. It has loads of history, low beams and open fires. It's a great base for exploring Teesdale and the rugged North Pennines, or for a stop-over for travellers on the A66. Rooms are good, the food is home-cooked, and there are well-kept real ales.
