| There's not a better pub in Matlock than here at The Thorn Tree. The best kept ales and plenty to choose from with Bass and Taylors Landlord on all the time and regular guest ales too. The landlord is a chef and his sunday lunch is often followed by homemade treacle pudding and custard like ya momma tried to make but never hit the standard of this guy believe me! Wednesday night is Pie Night but on both days you've got to get there quick cos you can't book and when the grub runs out ... you go hungry for another week! Free tabloids and also a "Hi what can I get you?" on arrival and always a "Thank you" on exit. The best smoking canopy in the country and a view from the terrace right across Matlock.
