| The Appleby is quite like no other pub, certainly not in this area anyway. Firstly it is a alternative music pub which caters for rock, goth, punk, EMB & industrial. Every Fri or Sat there are live bands & usually it is free entry. The decor is gothic in flavour & the walls adorned with pictures (by a local artist) of horror movie icons as well as some famous music idols. This pub has a friendly atmosphere since the new owners took over in 2007. There is a great selection of lagers, spirits, wines & always a real ale plus coffee & teas.
