We have just returned from the Bulls Head and thoroughly enjoyed our meal from the set Sunday lunch menu, there was a choice of Beef, Lamb, Pork, Turkey or Gammon. I had Beef and Lamb, my dining partner had Gammon and Pork. The three types of vegetables were cooked to perfection, we were spoilt with stuffing, buttery mash, roasties and Yorkshire puds with a great selection of sauces. The mouthwatering desert menu left us a bit overwhelmed as we struggled to decide on only one each. We declined the coffee although it is included in the price. It was our 4th visit in recent months and each visit has been a treat. The staff are helpful, friendly and smile a lot. Do not mention this secret to anyone else as tables soon get taken. Keep up the standards, we will return soon. [Report for Removal] Malcolm Stockill

Just had the worst meal in ages and very disappointed - as it cost over £60 - far more than an excellent pub meal we had in London over the Christmas holidays. We had a vote in the car before we went out about where we were going to go to eat. The kids voted for The Bulls Head as they'd had good meals there before with friends. This time everyone was disappointed. Starters were ok, but we had Lasagne and the Fish platter for our main course. One lasagne tasted stale and strange (certainly not of the passata and basil as described) and within a few bites I really didn't want to eat any more - or anything at all. My stepdaughter's lasagne was lukewarm and soon cold. The fish platter was dry and tasteless. The kids insisted on staying to order one dessert, which was 'hot' chocolate fudge cake - but even this was lukewarm. On the way home we speculated whether the cooker (microwave?) was actually set at the right temperature, as none of the food had been hot. All of us really regretted our vote and we certainly won't be going back in a hurry. We came home and ate toast! [Report for Removal] Claire Ingham
