| We live near the Morris Dancer and have seen and experianced the changes there over the last 11 months when the new landlord came and took over from the the last people who were so bad. Food is great, staff friendly , my kids were well catered for and my Mum loved the open fires. We will be going again soon as the prices are so good and the dishes are so tasty and you must try the chocolate fondant it is the best pudding i've ever tasted! | Have had a very good experiance at the morris dancer, fantastic meal, well presented, tasty and filling. Staff friendly and service quick. | What a disaster. Despite some good food the standard of service was truly awful and the response to complaints worthy of Basil Fawlty. Despite having faxed in our orders the day before, our party was subject to almost an hour of waiting between the starter and the main and over an hour then for dessert. The waitresses were utterly ill-informed about the menu and were unable to describe many of the courses. Organisation front of house was a shambles with nobody clearly responsible for our table and the staff often wandering off into huddles for a chat. This all happened on a Saturday night when there were only three other parties in the restaurant. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was busy in the kitchen and would not come out to talk to me on grounds of health and safety. The owner was eventually called up but said that he wasn’t prepared to discuss the poor service, as he said “As far as I’m concerned you’ve had the food so I don’t see a problem. Write in if your still not happy” On leaving, I asked a local why he came to the pub and was told that it had a good bar, but if you asked a local, they wouldn’t want to eat there! I can see why.
