| We recently visited the Elms for the first time on the 23 November 2007. We had dropped my son of at the NEC and then came looking for somewhere to eat. We stumbled across the Elms and judging by how busy the car park was we went and expected to wait along tome for food. However this was not the case. We waited for about 15 minutes and then shown to a table. The service and food was excellent and the staff very helpful. | We have visited on several occassions and recommended to other friends & family to use The Elms. We actually live 10 miles away the other side of the city to The Elms We took a party of 8 there on 28/02 for our 2 mothers birthday. The tables had not been cleared there was rubbish, dirty nappies and general dirty surroundings. The food was ordered and was fine, altough during the night additional drinks arrived that we had not ordered, some of our plates were cleared but we had to clear the remaining, empty glasses and tidy up before we could even order coffee or deserts. One of the dessert were sent back, it still had the paper backing on. When we came to pay the bill £80, which I am sure any resturant would welcome, we did complain and was told they had a staffing problem. I really do not need to know this and no effort was made to rectify the situation, to keep your clients happy, wanting to return. I also work in customer service and our service is second to none, so I find attitudes like this very disturbing. We shall therefore not be returning to The Elms, considering that we are Coventry born & bred and was so pleased that a old hospital was not turned into housing but kept for the people to use [Report for Removal] | townsend coventry warwickshire |
