| Is this it at last? I hope so, after so many incarnations non particularly exciting last night we ate at the Antelope.with new owners The pub has been reopened 4 weeks now ao old reviews are irrelevant so lets go to the point. We had a very warm reception the restaurant was full( Wednesday evening)no problem we ate in the bar. The food was good actually very good. The menu was interesting and reasonably priced we will definitely become regulars if the standard is kept. | The earlier poor review is now totally irrelevant as the pub now has new owners, who took over 4 weeks ago. I took 20 international visitors last night and the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. The food was home cooked, there was a large selection and it was very reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend The Antelope and I am sure it will improve even further when the new owners get it into the shape they wish. | Atmosphere from beginning cold and unfriendly. Staff miserable and curt. Prawns with no taste and like rubber. Meals some cold, sprouts like mushy peas. Not enough cutlery. Sauces taken from another table either dripping down the side or almost empty. Standards definitely changed and we shall not be going again.
