| Upon reading this page I thought it in my interest to make a visit to a place causing such conflicting reviews, I was pleasantly surprised!The 'arrogant' managers were fantastic hosts and took an eager interest in making sure my table were enjoying our evening, and at last a place which prides itself in serving great british home cooked food instead of the usual microwave, deep fried garbage usually served up these days. | I took my Mother here as a mothers day treat and we were presented with what can only be described as two of the worst meals we have ever had placed in front of us. When asked if we were enjoying our meals we obviously said sorry but no we were not. At this point we were told, and I quote, "that if you are not happy then you should go and go now!" I do not expect to be spoken to in such a manner in a customer driven business. On leaving we were expected to pay the full amount of almost £40 for two 2 course meals, 1 cider and 1 mineral water. As we had not had the sweet course I said I was not going to pay for it, at which point the manager said that if I did'nt he would call the police! We ended up paying £34 so we were still overcharged. I have written a letter of complaint but very much doubt I will get a reply because the couple running the pub were truly ignorant and obviously don't care about their customers.
