| Prior to Mothering Sunday we booked a table for lunch for 5 adults and a child.Three of whom had travelled down from London especially for the occasion. On arrival at the Inn the overflow carpark was littered with dog mess, and the outside of the building looked very ''tired'' and unkept, even though we noticed a AA Listing of 4 Stars. ( Surely from a bygone age !) Once inside the service was less than acceptable, with no table available for us, even though we had a prior booking, this was recified very begrudgingly, in the bar area by the live music, hardly conducive to a family get together. Neither was the continuing toing and froing of a couple of dogs, surely against hygine regulations? Altough the young waitress was exceptionly polite, when we complained the Chef/Manager was incredibly rude, suggesting '' Well you were fed, pay in full or take it to head office ''. There was also mention in the local press of a Mothers Day gift, which was not fortcoming. Having recently received a copy of Taste Magazine,surely the picture advertised cannot be a recent one- this is how the Plough used to look!
