| On sunday 26th september 2010 on what was meant to be an enjoyable relaxing day out in canterbury, we decided to have a meal at this pub as it looked clean, inviting and fairly priced for a sunday lunch. On arriving we were told there would be a 20 minute wait for the food to be served which we were happy to accept, so as requested we paid for the meals in advance and took our drinks to a table in the conservatory. After 45 minutes we had not received our meals and had not been told of any further delays. Went to the bar to find out what was happening but there were no staff there. On returning to the table saw the waitress and she took our table number and said the food would be coming very soon. Another 30 minutes lapsed and still no food- getting very hungry now... returned to the bar and luckily there was now one member of staff whom took our table number and said the food would be cooked immediately. Returned to table and by this time many other customers had eaten and left. Whilst waiting at the table, to our horror we noticed that there was water dripping through the glass conservatory roof through the joint where the light descended. About another 15 minutes later another more senior member of staff came to the table, she apologised profusely for the delay explaining that the waitress was new and that the chefs had left. She offered us a refund plus the meal that we ordered. As we were promised the food would be brought to us immediately we accepted as we had been waiting 1 hr 40 minutes by then and were very hungry. About ten minutes later the waitress appeared with two meals which were not the meals we had ordered and paid for so we returned them. The meals we originally ordered finally arrived minus the roast potatoes, when we eventually received the roast potatoes they were cold inside and had to be returned. They had not reappeared by the time we had finished the rest of our food so we left in absolute disgust about 2 hours after we first arrived and ordered. We consider this pub to have the worst service in all the pubs we have visited and will be warning our friends and families and work colleagues not to risk visiting this pub.[Report for Removal] | LINDA MORRIS DARTFORD KENT |
