| We visited the pub today for lunch and it was deserted. The food was very average and a number of items we ordered were suddenly not available including mash potato as they had not had time to make any (how long does it take). There was no warm feeling to the pub even though they have a log fire on the go and the staff seemed pretty uninterested. Only postive point is that the food was cheap. | This pub advertise's a beer garden with childrens play area and at weekends a bouncy castle - why I dont know as they obviously dislike children. We had for all intentions wanted to stay in the garden for our visit one weekend afternoon, however with the weather we've been experiencing this year had no option but to make our way inside when it started throwing it down. This is when we were made to feel very unwelcome - yes our children were a little hyper but we were also trying to calm them and move drinks and food back inside, but before we really had a chance to sort things out the older guy whom helps run the place was really rude and loudly made comments to our children. We generally pride ourselves on our childrens behavour they are use to eating out and we have never been made to feel this uncomfortable, we wont be returning.[Report for Removal] | sara colchester essex |
