| "A Drink In Time"( The Hole In The Wall ) A window seat in historic fantasy, In the gateway of a glorious past, Watching people come and go, Disappearing through an ancient arch. To some it's just another hole in the wall, For me I sit in the heart of time, Warm welcome,Good food,a taste of days gone by, Sampling ales from the cask as I dine. Oh how I love this hidden gem, In the quietness of an ancient town, With a backdrop of Essex countryside, And a heritage handed down, A place where Boudica was victorious, Making the Romans cower, Close by the church of St Mary, Civil war saw the top blown off her tower. So you see it's a place to meet and greet, In the peace of present times, Taking in a hint of history, As you eat and enjoy the wine.
