| I am sorry the previous reviewer has a poor image of this pub - I went there on New Years Day - about the only pub open, and it was busy,live music and a great atmosphere - I would even go in on my own if necessary! Maybe this wasnt the time when children would be there, but maybe the landlord is trying to change the ambience slightly. I found it friendly and inviting, but then I dont have young children! Full coffee and tea menu on display (always a good thing I think!) Congratulations on being about the only place to go on New Year Day, well done! | i use to love this pub, infact i loved it so much I worked there for a while, but recently the new Landlord seems to enjoy Lording it up. He is so anti children it makes me long for the days of "dave" (the old landlord). I have taken my custom to another lovely pub called the Fat Cat who are child friendly. With pubs in crisis maybe he should rethink his policy on banning all children after 6 from outside !! [Report for Removal] | Bernice waterman colchester essex |
