| Following a change of management in June of 2009, this lovely pub tucked away down a small lane in a very rural setting has taken on a new life. The landlord and landlady are very welcoming and provide a selection of real ales as well as a varying menu of delicious, generously portioned home cooked food. Dogs and children are welcome and there is a gated rear patio which creates a wonderful sun trap during the summer months. There are also outside tables in the paved garden to the front. A large open log fire is kept going during winter months and various pub games are available including darts. Live music is occasionally put on at weekends and there are plans for a regular quiz night. They do not open at all on a Tuesday, but are open during the rest of the week, both lunchtimes and evenings, with all day opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A particular bonus is the full English breakfasts served on Sunday mornings between 9.30 and 11.00am with a selection of newspapers to browse. All in all an enjoyable experience and worth the drive.
