| Since the new proprietor's have taken over this public house the quality of food, service and general atmosphere is absolutely superb. I could not reccommend The Bell enough. | The Bell has been taken over now, and wow what an improvement! The food and service are fabulous, it is such a pleasure to have incredibly high standards on our doorstep. | I have been drinking at The Bell all my life.But unfortunatley the last few years the service has got really poor.Basicly you can not relie on it being open or even serving food or having many drinks to buy.At one time i went in there they only had one beer on the go and literally nothing else! As i found out recently when i and my wife decided to go for a drive we thought we would stop at the Bell for a bite to eat but unfortunatly it was closed.I spoke to some locals who said that the pub had been closed for SEVERAL weeks and that the owner is trying to turn it into a private house!.When The locals told me this i was really upset as i have got lots of fond memories of The Bell,its not the same drinking in any other pub.When The Bell was running smoothly it was probably the most sort after pub in Essex.I do hope it opens again soon.It plays an important role in Woodham Walter,as it has got so much history to it.[Report for Removal] | Mr Macintosh london england |
