| I was drinking in this hole a fortnight ago when I caught the lady behind the bar topping up my pint with the drip tray; Yes truly unbelievable, I could not believe my eyes. I have since discovered after speaking to others that this is common practice at the The Cock Tavern. | Local resident who frequens the pub weekly. The pub is a very pleasent locali am always made to feel welcome and always included in conversations with the regulars. The landlord and Landlady are very friendy people who always have time for a chat. I believe the previous nasty reviews are some what incorrect, unfortunatly there are some people with their own small minded views that feel that this is the place the air them rather than facing the fact that their bad attitudes just arent welcome in this nice friendly local. | Visited the pub over the easter weekend with family and found both the staff and atmoosphere very friendly. | I have been using this pub for a while now and have finally decided to stop using it when one of the pub's flea infested jack russells curled one out in front of a random diner and the barmaid was heard to say 'Ill get that in a minute' Regularly running out of beer,wine,Bulmers and bogroll this amazing excuse for a business staggers on clearly making enough money on a saturday night (live music) to sustain its survival.So if you dont mind dirty glasses,flat beer,grumpy downtrodden bar staff,severe low temperatures,top price drinks 20p dearer than all other nearby pubs ,stinky dogs,sitting next to the villiage idiot,putting money into the pockets of a management team that really despises its regulars and couldnt give a stuff then come to the Cock Tavern you will be dissapointed![Report for Removal] | Fed Up ongar essex |

| foods nice, drinks good, but the owners are nasty bitter "out to get you" type of people, if you want a nice pub experience with great atmosphere, there are five more better pubs down the road to this, in my opinion avoid this pub by any means![Report for Removal] | anonymous ongar essex |
