| I have been in The White Lion on many occasion within many years. I have seen a good pub go bad and bad pub improve. This is the first time I have seen a terrible pub go VERY GOOD! I was served politely, swiftly with a pint of Abbot that was clear, aromatic and perfectly chilled (I estimate!). My food was excellent, it arrived in reasonable time and looked amazing the ham was thinly sliced and very tasty, it was chosen from a menu that is seen often in chains accross the country and it appeared to contain all the items you would expect to see on just such a chain styled menu but it was apparent that the people running it were making an effort to distance themselves from the chain and be as individual as possible. Each table was complete with flower and an interesting overview of the pub bound in a leather file (a nice touch). It a a pub full of character and if the owners continue in the vein they have taken, I see no reason for them to fail.. good luck with the future, I hope to see a great pub, greater![Report for Removal] | Peter Finch Sawbridgeworth Herts |
