| The Nelson is once again part of the community thanks to Dan and his team. I eat there most weeks now and my friends and family all rave about the food,value for money and service. Theres always something going on and we cant wait untill the halloween party. We have already booked our table for xmas day. | Went to the lord Nelson, as usual, no cask IPA on only chilled or John smiths (not real beer) I drank 3 bottles of newky brown (chilled in a fridge!???!) and then that ran out. so I asked DAN why he had no English beers or stouts for sale in an English pub that I have been drinking in for the last 15 years and he said, Quote; "this pub has gone from 4 grand a week to 15, you work out that stock take cos I cant"!!!!! Firstly Dan, its simple maths and a bit of effort but obviously u cant b bothered (or u cant do the maths!!) Secondly, dont talk to a customer who asks a polite and reasonable question like an idiot, and, lastly, u underestimate the power of local opinoin. If u want a pub like the Nelson to do well in a time of economic crisis,why dont u try to apease you customers instead of insulting them, especially when they have done no wrong and you have no answers cos you cant do your job!!! You have lost a customer, but more importantly I will be bad mouthing you to every Tom, Dick and Harry I come across, u underestimate the power of local opinion, U do so at the peril of your own livelyhood. | On Sun 5th Feb, no interest in sorting out a problem with the wrongly served food. Cold and badly cooked food. A FILTHY wine glass - when reported to the bar staff, the answer was "It was washed".
