| Sadly this traditional local pub, which in the past could be rather proud of it's quality homemade food, excellent customer service and wonderful garden for children and parents, has been taken over and totally ruined by a large chain who seem to be completely ignorant of what the local community wants from a pub. This is shown by the number of people who now frequent it. It is true that this large chain has obviously spent an awful lot of money improving the look of the Rose but they are amazingly arrogant in their attitude to their customers. Even though they have a bowl into which you can put your comments and suggestions, still they don't listen. Our village doesn't want a gastro-pub or a 'fine dining experience', we want our traditional English pub back with good, honest food, reasonably priced beers and a wine list that you're every day person can afford. Let's face it, it doesn't matter how much they spend on the place if no-one goes in there.
