| After deciding to have lunch at the Flying Fish, in order of a small family celebration, we were extremely dissapointed. Flat cider, stone cold plates, terrible food and unbelievably bad service! I was so upset! This was supposed to be a lovely day! The starters were fine, nothing to write home about and cold plates, but they were ok. For my main course I ordered the Tagliatelli with King prawns and once it finally arrived I was again dissapointed. I attempted to open my King prawns to find nothing inside other than a strange goo like substance, no flesh. This was in BOTH of the prawns so it wasn't just a one off bad prawn which I undeerstand can happen. After explaining this the Blonde lady behind the bar (the lady featured on the website) said she would get me some more prawns, no apology she simply stated that this was the first complaint they'd had all day. I then asked her to take my meal away as the mussel were like bullets and I did not think this meal would do me any good to eat (I wasn't prepared to find out). My mums chicken was really overcooked and my dads plate was again stone cold again with hot food on it??? why??? This is unacceptable. Once we had finished and proceeded to the bar to settle up, the very hostile bar lady then tried to charge us the full amount! In what I can only describe as disbelief I refused to pay this final bill. I said that I would pay for what I ate and drank, but not for my main course. No compensation was offered for this appalling food and she was very unhappy about eventually discounting it, claiming I should pay for what I ordered and that there was nothing wrong with the meal. She said in a raised voice, "I'm not gonna argue with you, fine I'll take off £8.50". Huffing and puffing as she did so, as though all of this was my fault! After deducting this part of the bill she still proceeded to argue with me about doing so!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I work and deal with people in a high class situation everyday and this is unacceptable, no matter what class of establishment you are in. She needs to be retrained in her line of work. She was so rude and argumentative with me in front of the other customers. Her customer service was dreadful and, after telling her so, she continued to huff and puff and tut at me like a child. It is because of her bad manner and rudeness that I shall ensure I and no one else I know eats at this establishment. I am disgusted with the Flying Fish and in an ideal world would like our full bill refunded.[Report for Removal] | hannah seaford east sussex |
