| NOT A GASTROPUB! Visited on a beautiful Saturday at the end of May 2008. Sat outside on the rickety seating. Pub in idyllic setting and the the staff were friendly enough but the food was disappointing. We ordered roast lamb, cauliflower, green beans, new potatoes; lamb was like rubber with gristle, cauliflower cold, beans in short supply (i got 5), and potatoes were hot and ok. We followed the meal with a row (as in boats and oars) on the river which cost £18 for three adults for an hour. The setting is great but avoid the food! We won't revisit for at least a year as there are lots of other pubs in nice settings where the food is top quality. (One near the river in Pulborough comes to mind).
