Our visit was memorable only for the depths to which the owner/manager has striven to plumb in order to relieve those customers who are either unfortunate (like us) to try their cuisine or gullible enough to return in the delusional belief that what is offered in any way borders on the acceptable. We were charged 65p for a soda water (why??!!)...are we to believe that this prosaic offering - usually gratis in normal establishments - is hand-drawn my silk bedecked virgins from the neighbouring stream and so warrants such a charge? When the cheesburger and chips (£7-50) arrived (condiments on offer: BBQ sauce, Chilli and tomato sauce...served from a 'Daddies' bottle. Yes, really!)it filled me with contempt: both for what is supposed to pass as food, and for the management's cynical belief that I might believe it was in any way acceptable. The burger bun was notable exclusively for its antiquarian interest (old and dry) and the burger: murdered (presumably in a conflagration). The demi-slice of 'value' cheese topping it in no way ameliorated my disgust. 'Side salad' should not entail depriving the pub's pet rabbit of its daily intake: how some tastless greenery devoid of dressing or visual appeal can constitute a component part of this appalling meal beggars belief. To just fail recommend the pub would be reprehensible: in these enlightened times people should be actively discouraged from visiting this establishment. An utter disgrace.[Report for Removal] Tim Thornby

Firstly I was asked to leave my credit card behind the bar. The reason given for this was that people had left without paying. Anyone could have copied my details!! The waiter after consultation back in the kitchen said my car keys were OK to leave instead. I felt like a criminal!! We had potato skins to start. 2 tiny portions with cheese - cost in a supermarket for these potatoes 50p/75p, cost to us nearly £10!! We had a Greek salad which was bland and tasteless, stuffed peppers not cooked enough, pizza with smoked salmon and prawns which perhaps if I had had 20/20 vision i might have actually seen some salmon and a bacon and cheese salad which consisted of lettuce leaves and whole rashers of bacon dumped on top and covered in melted cheese. Apple crumble was OK but the crumble topping did not taste homemade. Believe it was a packet mixture. Why is it just because it's put together in the pub kitchen it can be called homemade. Eton mess was OK. Chocolate brownie OK apart from the fact that some maniac with a chocolate piping bag was trying to be Andy Warhol!! Over £75 not good value for money so unfortunately would not recommend, nor return. [Report for Removal] Nick Coleman
