| This unassuming and charming pub in the tucked away corner of Arlington, a short walk from the Arlington Reservoir delighted us as we dropped in during the midway part of our walk on a lovely Sunday in October 2008. We started with a pint and watched as the pub continued being full to the brim of happy customers tucking into their meals. It's cosy but not cramped, and has 3 sitting areas, each offering a different feel to the place. We understandably waited 20 minutes to get a table for 2 (as you have to book in advance to guarantee a sitting), but we enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere. As we sat down to eat, I was salivating as everyone else's food came out the kitchen and was changing my choice of order as each dish passed my eyes and nose. This pub has superb food of the highest quality and at excellent value prices. I chose the half shoulder of lamb with roast potatoes, 5 different veg and all the trimmings for £10.45, and my partner has roast Lamb sunday Dinner for £7.95. They were both exquisite. A large, Fresh and very tasty Banoffee pie to follow (£3.95) filled me up to the point of bursting. The key here is the homemade feel to all the meals, no microwaving going on here, and the ingredients are farm fresh and wonderfully prepared. Needless to say, I'll be back. | visited the yew tree on recommendation on a Tuesday lunchtime. Could not fault anything about the pub. Sat in the large garden and found the staff efficient and friendly. Drinks and food were served quickly and were very good, not too expensive either. The yew tree is a typical good old fashioned pub with no loud music or tv.
