| I dont see the things some people are complaining of when I visit this pub about 9 or 10 times a year. On my visits the food and service have all been great. | We recently went for a meal at this pub as a group of 12 having a get together. Granted it was a Sunday afternoon, but the service was very poor with several basic mistakes being made with our order, e.g. a chicken curry being served rather than the requested vegetarian one. It was also slow and no effort made to make up for errors; they were just laughed off. The food was adequate at best, overcooked veg. and small portions. On leaving, and despite staff seeing us leave, no effort was made to thank us for our custom or 'hope to see you again'. Too many pubs/restaurants are only interested in taking your money and forget about quality service and food. | We called in on Monday 24th August at app. 20.30 to be greeted by a friendly barman however, I wish I could have said the same about the woman who took our food order. We waited for app. 20 mins before asking if someone could take our order. A young girl, who was clearing away a breakage went behind the bar to get someone to come & serve us. The woman that came to us was very rude, no greeting just straight in saying "what do you want". On giving her the order, she neither smiled or thanked us & was determined to get out the list of available potato products i.e 'chips, baked potataos, mashed potato or new potatoes' even after answering her once she'd said chips! The childs menu offered a free drink with every meal but we weren't asked which one was wanted. Once she had taken the order my husband stated how rude she was & that he would have told her to stick the order if it hadn't been for the fact that I was looking forward to eating a steak. We did cancel the order but not before I told her how rude she was & that it was obvious that she didn't want to serve us. In times of recession, you'd have thought that she would have been a bit more receptive to customers who were spending app. £60+ on food & drink. | If you enjoy being greeted by a family of sulky unwelcoming landlords and want to pay £9.95 for ham egg and chips then this is the place for you. Total tourist rip off spot, no mention of locally sourced ingredients to qualify for such prices, but good play ground for the li'l ones.[Report for Removal] | sharon burn par cornwall |
