I have to disagree with the previous two comments. We come into this pub every week without fail and always on a Saturday with our grandchildren. The staff are lovely and wear uniforms, they certainly aren't grubby. The portion sizes are rather large but that is what we like. As it happens I always have the cheese and onion pie which is delicious. The pub is lovely and warm with the open fire generally on the go and the kids love the play-area.[Report for Removal] Mary

I had read in the Lancashire Telegraph that the Hapton Inn served good home cooked food so that's the reason we picked it & I was looking forward to my meal. I was surprised how quiet is was for Easter Saturday & with a free children's Easter egg hunt on it was still not busy. The seating is either threadbare or grubby or both. I felt like leaving as soon as I stuck to the table. The whole place was grimy, the tables had never been wiped down between customers, in fact my table mat was actually stuck to the table. The speed at which the food arrived & extensive menu first alerted me to the fact it was unlikely to be home cooked food. The ridiculously over sized portion of chips were definitely NOT home cooked & I doubt the circle of puff pastry balanced on the steak & kidney pie was either. The cheese & onion pie may have been home prepared but cooked is not a word I would use to describe it, the pasty was raw & uncooked except for the top bit you could see. I think they need to stop stating home-cooked freshly prepared fayre in their advertising. The only plus point was the pleasantness of the staff in their grubby clothes.[Report for Removal] Chris

This is the first time I have ever visted the hapton inn and found the experience terrible, the pub needs a good clean and the food was awful. I order a sandwiche with chips, the sandwiche was ok but the chips tasted like they have been cooked in oil that was weeks old, when I looked around the resturant there wasn't a clean plate insight, other customers had too left majority of their meal. When I asked my husband how much the meal had costed it turned out they had over charged us £12 for our meal, but when we questionned them they did give us our money back. I won't be eating there again.[Report for Removal] Local Resident
