| We discovered the The Mitre Inn in Benedict Street by lucky chance and were delighted when it turned out to be a most welcoming, hospitable and friendly pub. The landlord James, went out of his way to make us feel that we were not strangers in his home. He offered a good choice of ales and although we did not want to eat at that time, there was a good and varied menu available. This pub is full of old world charm, and also boasts a skittle alley and quiet areas if you do not want to join the locals in their friendly chat at the bar. It is situated a little off the main high street and as such offers a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist route. I can not recommend this pub highly enough, and encourage you all to visit James on your next trip to Glastonbury. [Report for Removal] | Dawn Saunders Gosport Hampshire |
