| I went there for the first time being local and always seeing at busy. Lovely location, we went in and it is very nicely done out and a nice ambience. We had a garlic bread starter which was lovely, I then had the chicken curry. It was like the chicken had come from Chernobyl, it was grey and cremated and pardon the expression 'foul', I left most of it and when the waiter came I informed him it was ropey and explained why. He then informed the licensee who told me they use prime chicken fillets, was almost argumentative and so I asked him to take a look at it. Of course by this time it had been cleared and had disappeared! He gave us a complimentary desert i declined but my wife thoroughly enjoyed hers. I never complain about food as I just liken easy relaxing life out of work. I just felt he tried to justify terrible food which wasn't cheap. I won't be going there again. Rubbish! | We went to the Barge Inn for supper on Saturday evening, the table was booked for 7.30pm. The place was heaving when we arived and didn't get our food order taken until 7.50pm. As it was so busy and wih my dad being diabetic we neded to know how long the food was going to be in order to work out when he needed his insulin injection. We were told it was about 20 mins for the starters and 40 mins for the main course. Needless to say the starters arrived within the said 20 minutes, but the mains took another 45 minutes after that and didn't arive until 20.45 and that was after we had asked how long they were going to take. The waitress was quite rude (probably she was stressed as it was still really busy) saying she had moved our order up 4 places already and it would be another 5 minutes, she did not apologise for being rude. The food wasn't worth the wait (DO NOT ORDER THE FISH PIE MAIN - the complimentarary magnifying glass doesn't come with it so you wil find it dificult to find any fish plus you'll need to wipe of the top layer of oil (?melted cheese). My partner asked for sirloin steak 'medium' and it was over cooked, the natcho's starter had not salsa on it, but did come with a side of chopped tomatoes with sweetcorn. On the plus side the beer was good and can recommend the mole ale, brewed in Wiltshire. In order to improve I would suggest employing more staff at busy periods both inside and outside of the kitchen. [Report for Removal] | Paul Ratcliff Bradford on Avon Wiltshire |

| Went there on August Bank Hliday Monday 2008 and whilst the beer is good, the staff friendly the food was rubbish. Quite possibly the worst sandwich since the days of British Rail. Over priced and undersized prtions.[Report for Removal] | P Iivory Trowbridge Wiltshire |
