| It is many years since we visited The New Inn and had quit a shock last week. The portion of meat was a disgrace, two very thin small slices, I asked "was that it" and was given an extra half slice but the meat was so tough. On the whole the veg was ok apart from the parsnip that must have been stewed for hours. The meal was cold as the gravy was only luke warm. | We had xmas day lunch here and were very disappointed with the staff , service and food. The staff were miserable , no festive cheer. On arrival no one greeted us , the food was ok apart from the dark strand of hair in one of the pate's. The soup was tepid. Another dark hair was found on the meat from the carvery. As this was Christms day we thought maybe it would feel a bit festive but apart from the Christmas crackers on the table , no effort was made. Mince pies and coffees were extra charges.No one thanked us for our custom ( 13 of us). No one said goodbye when we left and we did leave a generous tip , as its Christmas !
