| Well-known for its range of real ales and well worth a visit. Had a pint of Old Hooky here after a hearty winter walk round Shustoke Reservoir. They also had a number of strong winter ales on tap. Pity we had to get home for lunch, as the food here looked good. Unforunately we had to go in the Conservatory as we had children with us. And I have to say it's not very nice. | A mecca for real ale drinkers from miles around, with around ten well-kept beers, most of which change regularly. Bar food at lunchtimes only - very basic but tasty and good value which is how it should be for this type of pub. The interior comes into its own on dark evenings with dim lighting and two log burning stoves. Nearly always very busy which is unusual for a pub that doesn't depend on food to survive. No children allowed in main bar but welcome in conservatory which is bright, stark and can be very noisy.[Report for Removal] | Mark Coventry Warwickshire |
