| Went with friends to the Bradford Arms Carvery recently for an early evening mid-week meal. The service was poor. There were few customers and plenty of staff, but no-one giving any attention. At best the service was haphazard. The meat was very good - turkey, gammon or beef - succulent and tasty, though not generous portions. But the vegetables were dreadful. They really looked as they'd been there since the previous day - overcooked, mushy and tasteless. The roast potatoes were certainly not crispy. And under the heating elements everything was dried out and grey on top. The sprouts were particularly disgusting. And the 'chef' serving wasn't much fun either. Beer - well they do have Greene King IPA, a favourite of mine, but served so cold you can't taste it. It's a good job I went with a great bunch of friends. We all had a good evening nonetheless. It had been about ten years since I'd last been there, when my experience was much the same. Ten years would be too soon to revisit. Definitely NOT recommended.
