| Visited this pub for evening meal Sat 21/11/09, party of 2. The bar is Olde World, the restaurant looks newly and very tastefully decorated. All the staff were very attentive. We were made welcome from the time we entered and presented with the menus and drinks in a restaurant reception area. We had 1 starter of smoked venison on a salad leaf bed, 2 mains of duck breast on dauphanoise potatoes with a fig jus, accompanied by 4 types of vegetables. Rounded off with apple and almond pudding and a treacle pudding, both with custard. The whole experience was a joy, the food immaculately prepared and presented and with 2 pints of cider and a martini and lemonade, the bill £54.
