Dating back to the 17th Century, Coombe Cellars was for centuries a wild and remote place frequented only by smugglers. Famed for being the setting for the novel ‘Kitty Alone’ by the Victorian writer Sabine Baring-Gould. Newton Abbot offers many attractions including the opportunity to walk in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, which offers stunning scenery. For those who enjoy shopping there is a popular outdoor market while attractive beaches at Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torquay are on the doorstep. Guests will be able to browse a new menu which includes a wide variety of freshly prepared classic pub dishes such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. There is also a separate lunch menu offering freshly made sandwiches and salads, perfect if you’re just nipping in for a quick bite. Look out for the blackboard showing today’s specials, and the thoughtfully selected range of delicious vegetarian options. There is an extensive wine selection to compliment the menu as well as a variety of continental lagers. There is no need to book, just come in and we'll look after you. The Coombe Cellars boasts a stylish interior which adds to the traditional charm and character of the building.
