Here at the Chequers in Barley we offer a traditional pub atmosphere with a warm and friendly welcome. We have a selection of old and new pub games,ie ring the bull, shove a penny, darts, dominoes, back gammon and petanque.

The food offered, is traditional pub food, with value for money. Also available is restaurant style dishes for the more discerning diners. The restaurant is small and private. Can seat up to 18 persons on one long table. The bar area seats a further 35 people maximum. We cater for family and friends get togethers, business meetings i.e We have already provided a Business Breakfast club for the Local Business men of Royston , informal or formal we can cater for all. We do buffets or set meals. Walking parties, senior citizens luncheons and much more. Pre orders are much appreciated.

We have a large garden area for outside dining and children to play in. Dogs are welcome, if well behaved.

We hold special events through out the year, our last event was a halloween party for adults and children, which was a great success. In June we had a beer festival and steam engine rally, which despite the weather brought a good number of people out and great weekend was enjoyed by all. £1694.00 was raised through a charity auction on the last day ranging from a leather horse whip to a ride-a-long in one of the steam engines featured on the day.
