Originally a Railway Hotel built around 1850 the Beer Engine was established as a pub and brewery in 1985. With our specially brewed beers and good home cooked food available every lunchtime and evening you’ll find the Beer Engine an excellent place to relax and unwind. The normal range of beers brewed are: Piston Bitter 4.3% abv Rail Ale 3.8% abv Sleeper Heavy 5.4% abv Other draughts include Kronenbourg 1664, Carlsberg, Dragon tears cyder from the green Valley cyder farm. Apart from its home at the pub, Beer Engines’s ales are occasionally found at the Lamb in Sandford and the Black Dog near Witheridge.
