I dont normaly write reviews on places that i have visited, but my family came to stay with us for a few days i took them to the Five Bells Inn, a place that I have not been to for many years, and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome that we recieved and the atmosphere of the pub was outstanding the service we recieved was first class!! The food exceeded all of our expections and great value for money. Lots of choice of local wines and greats BEERS!! We will difinately be going again very soon well done keep up the great work.[Report for Removal] Dave

We went on Sunday for lunch, and although the starters and desserts were very nice, those of us that had lamb were terribly disappointed. It was very bad quality, nearly 75 per cent fat and very undercooked. Despite complaining to the waitress, no one came to speak to us and when my husband went to pay and mentioned again that we were very disappointed, nothing was done. A free drink, or a cut in the cost of just those lamb dishes would have been appreciated. It was an opportunity for the management to do something, and they failed misserably. The meal for 4 adults and 2 children was over £100, not cheap and therefore we would not go there again.[Report for Removal] Mrs A Lowe

I visited the Five Bells after a day walking in Kent and enjoyed my evening immensely. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food was of a high standard too. I shall certainly visit again.[Report for Removal] christopher wood

Taken over by new owners from the wonderful Haans and Pauline that we had all grown to love. The food has changed significantly including taking off some of the best dishes the five bells had to offer! There are now restrictions on certain meals "at busy times" - this would be the times that people go out to eat a meal!!! The food has dropped in quality although does appear to more presentable than the previous chef. To end the review its waitresses are all teenage girls with extremely serious attitude problems that are so bad that after 7 years of going to the 5 bells i will no longer return. My husband and I are not from the area but we were staying overnight in Kent on route to France. We took up the Telegraph offer of 'Wine & Dine'for £10 and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent as was the service. We would certainly eat at The Five Bells again.[Report for Removal] Marite Hiatt
