Went to The Crown on Sat 13 Sep for an evening meal.The service was awful.The young girl at the bar made it fairly obvious that we were a nuiscance.We went to the bar to say we were ready to order,she came over and was vert surly with lots of attitude.She never spoke just looked at us when it was our turn to order.Then she said we should have ordered at the bar which she hadn't said!!Later we realised she hadn't asked us if we wanted chips or potatoes I went to the bar to tell her and she was really stropy saying if our meal was ready we couldn't have it!! A good pub is being spoilt by a bar maid who does not enjoy her job.While she is working there I will not return.[Report for Removal] Teresa Wallis

Dear Yvonne, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Crown Inn after visiting Old Wardour Castle and Tisbury. Although the room was tiny for us three (me and my 2 daughters), we felt put back in time at this lovely old inn and we will be happy to return, maybe next time for a bigger room. Breakfast was excellent and I liked the little stream at the back of the house. Pls keep me posted about your Live Music events! Love from Sabine (Bavaria)[Report for Removal] Rusted S. A.

WE visited just the once at the end of June 2008. We were staying one night in a local B&B and wanted to make sure we could eat, so we booked a table the week before. We needn't have bothered. Next to no-one there. The food and beer were OK, but hardly brilliant, but what put us off most was the totally disinteresetd service we received. No 'Hello', no 'What can I get you'... just a stare from behind the bar. When I find I'm the only one doing the 'Pleases' and Thank You's'... I rarely come back. I suggest they learn some people skills. The B&B was excellent and I'll be back. But not to this pub.[Report for Removal] A Visitor

Yvonne and Trevor, previously at The Royal Oak in Motcombe have taken over the Crown Inn. The Crown Inn is a Hall and Woodhouse Pub with En-suite rooms a lovely Bar and Dining area, large beer garden and car park, all it was lacking was a good landlady, well now Yvonne has arrived the Crown Inn is back on the map![Report for Removal] Dave
