After hearing the Woolpack had new owners I thought it would be a good opportunity to pay the gorgeous pub a visit. What a delightful evening we had. The new owners are great fun to be with and really switched on to what the Woolpack needs to bring it back to life again. The whole place has been treated to some deserved TLC and once again is looking fabulous. A complete new set of chef's have been brought in and what a wonderful selection of dishes are now on the menu. A new lunch menu with good quality food and very good prices looks very appealling and we will definatly be coming back to try this. The food arrived on lovely clean white crockery and the food itself was devine. Beautiful presentation and lovely good tasting ingredients. Portion size was great so unfortunatley we had no room left for any deserts which looked very inviting. We would like to think we are wine buffs and we where very impressed with the new wine menu and the wide range of selection from all over the world. I would like to say a big thank you to the new family for doing what should of been done a lone time ago and bringing the Woolpack back to life. Well done and see you all soon. After reading several good reviews on this place, we decided to drive out into the Surrey countryside and experience this ourselves. The pub appeared to be full of local people which seemed a bonus. Unless we were just unlucky on that day, having a late lunch. My 'Chicken & Mushroom' Pie turned up after 15 minutes stone cold and no consistency in the filling. As soon as I removed the inch thick pastry top, the contents just collapsed. Small quantities of salty, gristly chicken in a tasteless watery stock! However, did send it back. Staff very apologetic and it came back 25 minutes later having been zapped in the microwave. My husband didn't enjoy his dried up fish, but he ate it because he was just hungry.
