It is a really good pub(gastro pub, I guess) I was taken for a special occasion in February and the people there were really welcoming and the food was first class. I am not easily impressed. We have been back several times since and I have to say if you fancy trying somewhere you haven’t been, this one is definitely worth a few extra miles. Anna & Rob. June 2009. went to the hampshire last week for sunday lunch and was extremely impressed with the food. the slow-cooked pork with some flagolet beans. WOW, is all i can say, you can tell that it has taken a lot of time to produce, and the roast beef was huge i will be going more regularly if in the area its a must[Report for Removal] fred

The Hampshire Arms has now reopened as The Hampshire at Crondall. New owners, new chef. We ate there last week on a pre-opener... if it's as good everyday as it was on that night then it's worth a visit for some good tucker. I would not recommend this restaurant after Saturday 6th October 2007. I had a party of 12 people to accommodate so I emailed the menu that was on their website to my party to ensure everyone was happy with the menu. Everyone agreed the choice was fantastic so I booked the table. When we arrived there was no Hoegarden which was preferred by one of the party, we werenʼt offered a wine list, the menu we were given wasnʼt the same as the website - in fact there was a choice of 5 mains one of which was vegetarian and then we were informed that one of the mains was unavailable so we had a choice of 3 effectively. Then they ran out of Bacardi (!) It was decided between us all that the choice of food wasnʼt acceptable (especially taking into account the money we would be paying) so we decided to leave - We then had to find a restaurant to accomodate 12 on a Saturday night and thankfully The Thai Lord, Farnham squeezed us in. On Tuesday 9th October I phoned The Hampshire Arms & I spoke with the manager, Luc Helye. An apology would have been nice but all he was worried about was the money he had lost out on. I did suggest that when people book a table with them maybe they should advise them that they have changed their menu.[Report for Removal] Mel W
