The location of Fishers pond a pub/restaurant we went to was very pretty with a lake out back in the garden. We went to eat there as looked very nice and recommended by the staff at another local pub called The Fox as they had stop doing food at 4pm. The resturant was fairly busy but seemed under staffed, the food was lovely although we had to wait over an hour and half for a main, we didnt get round to dessert as the service was the worst i have ever had and we gave up waiting for someone to take our order and when asked for the bill and had to wait again we were shocked to see that we v extremly over charged by about £35! When ask to speak to the manager we were suprise to find that it was the person who had been serving us if you can call it services. They did give us our starters free of charge after i complained which i dont normally do.[Report for Removal] cheryl valladares

My husband and our 3 children visited Fishers Pond one evening having walked out of the Queens Head/Appleton's next door in disgust. I don't drink out of dirty glasses at home !! The fire was on, the immediate feeling was very comfortable, It was busy but we were dealt with straight away and as diners had literally just got up to move this table in 'the conservatory' was perfect. My husband was on a liquid only diet in readiness for a operation the next day but the soup of tghe day he didn't fancy and asked if there was anything else. The lady went to the kitchen and offered 3 alternative options and the chef even made a suggestion of he could further enjoy his liquid meal if he would allow him to prepare something special. It was simply fabulous. We were neither rushed, nor made to feel as if we had arrived at an inconvenient moment. We were treated with great respect, even the children enjoyed it so much they asked to go back the next day. The food was well presented, freshly prepared and even the plates had been warmed before service. The atmosphere was calm and the staff were all professional, well dressed (no tummy piercings on show) and all was made to look seamless. We all went back a week later for lunch to see if it was a one off but no - once again it was superb. If you have not tried Fishers Pond which I believe was bought from Brewers Fayre when they sold several off - our advice - yes go there. It is a little gem. [Report for Removal] Mrs D Fletcher

The food by in large was OK but the service was very very slow. We had booked for a Christmas meal on the 14th of December at 12:30. there was 16 in our party and had pre-ordered all of our meals (2/3 courses). The table was NOT set there were NO Christmas trimmings, crackers or hats etc. There was NO Christmas atmosphere at all, no festive music and just ONE garland above a mirrow and ONE poisentta plant looking very sad, not your usual scene for the time of year. TWO of the meals that were pre-ordered were not available and after some debate TWO mini-steaks were found and cooked and were not very palatable to say the least. Most of the meals were not as hot as could be and very soon cooled off. We had complementary coffees which were served in potty shaped cups but NO SAUCERS, not very tidy!!. The table waiter did his best it was not his fault. When the BILL arrived the price of the two Steaks were excluded as a token of some sort of apology. We were at the venue at 12:30 and did not leave until 15:30. We thought that 3 HOURS was too long a time and there were others in the restaurant having similar treatment having there meals returned with half their meals left uneaten. There is no excuse for the service, afterall, this was a pre-ordered set of meals and as for the time of year you should have been prepared for any eventualities. Needless to say that NEXT Christmas we will be taking our business elsewhere and hope that we find a more festive venue that put their customers first and get into the festive spirit, remember this is your most profitable time of the year and that we WILL NOT be making any recommendations to use your establishment.
