Welcome to the home page of this family run freehouse rural inn, situated in the heart of the beautiful Blackmore vale in North Dorset.You will find us 4 miles outside of Shaftesbury on the main A30 to Yeovil, with Poole, Bournemouth and Salisbury all approximately a 40 minute drive away. We are also surrounded by stunning countryside and many country walks including the ever popular Dunciffe hill walk.

Inside our Inn you will find a comfortable public bar area with open fireplace (in the winter months), a beautiful refurbished restaurant area seating up to 80 covers and our M.Allard and garden room which seats up to 44 covers. Ample car parking can be found to the front of the inn and we have a truely magnificant enclosed one acre beer garden to the rear. We also have three well appointed en-suite bedrooms for let whether it be for business or pleasure.

We pride ourselves on our food and service and aim to provide seasonal produce wherever possible. Our menus are written and created by our four chefs, Ross, Dominique, Matt and "Big" Rob, and change with the seasons.We have a full a la carte menu, traditional pub menu, specials board and childrens menu available seven days a week and advise bookings wherever possible. We also cater for large parties with special menus and cater for all dietry requirements. We have a well stocked bar with real ales and beers and a full wine list available as well as a full range of soft drinks and mixers.

From january 2010 we now provide a special one course lunch menu priced at just £5.00 per person with a choice of eight different main courses every day with the emphasis on quality. Please join us on a Sunday for our superb carvery with a choice of four mouthwatering meats carved by one of our chefs,and supplied by HH of Whiteparish, Salisbury for just £9.50 for main course. Other menu options are also available from a reduced ala carte menu and traditional pub menu.
